The Way of The Flower: Ikebana talk and demo

Come to Yanagi Botanic Arts to experience an in depth look into the world of Ikebana, the Japanese art of flower arranging.  An artist talk and Ikebana demo will be given by your host and studio owner Heidi Almosara.  Such topics will include an artist talk of her studio and her own personal journey into this creative artform, a brief history and fun facts about Ikebana, and then will conclude with a demo featuring ikebana arrangements while highlighting Japanese tools and key terms.  Heidi Almosara is a former fine arts professor, a multidisciplinary artist, and a certified Sogetsu Ikebana teacher.  In 2025, she opened her first studio named Yanagi Botanic Arts.  The studio name is derived from her Sogetsu teacher's name Yanagi which means Willow.
